Port Of Los Angeles Receives Three Design, Engineering Awards For Wilmington Waterfront Park

The (APWA). The Port, along with consultant team Sasaki Associates, Inc., also received the 2011 Best Project Award in the Landscaping/Urban Planning category by Engineering News-Record (ENR) California Magazine.

In addition, the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) has announced it will honor the Port of Los Angeles and Sasaki Associates, Inc. with the 2012 Merit Award in Engineering Excellence.

Los Angeles Travel Guide

Los Angeles which also means “The Angels” in Spanish is located in the state of California, United States of America. It is the most densely populated city of the state and is also the 14th largest city in the world. Having such a huge population means people from nearly all race and religion call Los Angeles their home, making it the most culturally diverse city on the planet.

Getting to Los Angeles

Being a mega city, Los Angeles has countless exit and entrance points. As for airports, it has six commercial airports and dozens of private airports. The largest and most famous of these airports is the Los Angeles International Airport which comprises of 9 terminals. The terminals are so vast that it takes a good 10 minutes to reach from one to another.

Los Angeles is also accessible by train and by bus. If you are entering the city via train, Amtrak station located at N. and Alameda St next to Hollywood freeway in downtown LA (short for Los Angeles) would be your point of entry. If you are coming in via bus then you have various options like Greyhound terminal or North Hollywood station.
